THE HISTORY OF DRAGO FRANCE
We are your trusted partner for the manufacturing of vineyard machinery. Since our creation, we have been committed to providing innovative, reliable and efficient solutions tailored to the specific needs of every vineyard.
Our Story
Since 1985, when our company was founded, we have continuously developed ever more efficient machines designed to meet your expectations, your needs and the specific challenges of your vineyards. Our ambition is to support you for many years to come and help preserve the rich winemaking heritage of our regions.
1985
The company was founded in Aix-en-Provence, in southern France, following the patenting of a hydraulic pre-pruner for trellised vineyards. At the time, the company employed two people.
From 1985 to 1990, the hydraulic pre-pruner was manufactured and distributed throughout France and Switzerland.
1990
The company shifted its focus toward industrial maintenance, steel structure assembly and the completion of custom assembly projects.
1995
DRAGO FRANCE relocated to Rognac, still in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in southern France.
1998
At the same time, the company resumed its activity in vineyard machinery by becoming the importer and distributor of LOEFFEL tracked tractors in France and Spain.
2003
The company discontinued its maintenance activity to focus fully on the development and distribution of vineyard machinery. New facilities were then built in the Valaurie industrial estate.
2005
Development of a new 70 hp tracked tractor on behalf of LOEFFEL.
2006
The decision was made to create our own brand, DRAGO, and manufacture our first tracked tractor.
Development of the first prototype took place between July 2006 and January 2007.
2007
Production and sales of the first series of 10 machines began between March and September 2007.
The DRAGO range was officially unveiled to the public at the SITEVI trade show in November 2007.
Production of a second series of 10 machines took place between December 2007 and May 2008.
2009
Production of the third series began in 2009, featuring the development of a new chassis that enabled our base machine to be adapted into an over-the-row version for one or two vineyard rows.
2010
Research and development of a tracked over-the-row tractor specifically designed for narrow vineyards, particularly to meet the requirements of the Champagne wine region.
2012-2013
Development of the 1370V model, the first DRAGO machine equipped with a 70 hp engine.
2015
Research and development of an air-conditioned, pressurized cab, achieving Category 4 certification to protect the operator during the application of plant protection products in vineyards.
2018
Research and integration of new engines to comply with the new Stage V (Tier 5) emissions standards, which came into force in January 2019.
2019-2020
Launch of our new Series 20 and Series 19 over-the-row tractor range, equipped with engines compliant with Stage V (Tier 5) emissions standards.
